Speaking, reading aids, and your coach

How does Verbalta correct my Hebrew?

One correction at a time in a Feedback card showing What we heard and Try saying in full right-to-left sentences, plus a Hear it button.

Updated

Your coach responds to what you said first, like a real conversation partner. When one small change would make your Hebrew more natural or accurate, you get a single Feedback card under your turn.

Built for right-to-left reading

Instead of squeezing an arrow between two right-to-left phrases, a Hebrew Feedback card stacks two complete sentences cleanly:

  • What we heard: the sentence as the speech listener heard it, with the words that changed underlined.
  • Try saying: the natural Hebrew sentence in full, with the updated words in bold and underlined.
  • English explanation: a short, clear note in English explaining why (for example, matching past tense with אתמול, etmol).
  • English letters and vowel marks: shown automatically if you have those reading aids turned on.

Hear it and try again

  • Tap Hear it on the Feedback card to hear your coach say the corrected Hebrew sentence out loud.
  • Tap Try again to record the sentence the new way right away.
  • Tap Not what I said if the speech listener misheard you; your coach sets that correction aside immediately.

Choose how much your coach corrects you

In Account > Settings under Corrections (or by telling your coach out loud in a conversation), you can choose between three styles:

  • Let me talk: only what gets in the way of being understood.
  • Just right: one useful fix when it matters.
  • Correct me more: the small things too.
